January 2007
2007 began with Dead Heaven playing at the Marquee in Hertford with Perfect Distortion, The Gourami, and Puck. The band debuted two new songs written in the latter part of 2006, "Equilibrium" and "I Want More", to a very appreciative audience. It seems early but "Equilibrium" stands a good chance of becoming another DH anthem in the footsteps of "Burning White Light" and "Everything Of You". It was an excellent gig and the band look forward to playing with the other 3 bands again.
More gigs are being found/sought/blagged as I type, and hopefully 2007 will bring some memorable events to the ever faithful DH clan. If you are a promoter, or know of a suitable venue or band for DH to play with, drop us a line.
Plans are being made for this year's release, which may end up as the DH debut album due to the amount of material available. Dead Heaven also hope to release a DVD in 2007, which may be an "official bootleg" type release, with footage from various sources and gigs. More news as and when it happens.
BIG hello's and respect to Big Steve (our No1 Stalker - see his page on the GALLERY), Big Jim from Perfect Distortion, Bryan Damage (our lighting guy and good friend), Del and History of Guns, Syd at VEN Radio, Mark & the Herts clan, Mercy Wraith for the kind words, Rich & Global Citizen, Gary & the Cureheads, Madam Stan, the people at BowieZone/AFE/Myspace that are saying good things about DH, and last but not least, to our close friends and family.
Let's make 2007 a good one, not only for Dead Heaven, but for DECENT music in general!
April Fools Day 2007
March 2007 saw Dead Heaven gigging twice, in Colchester (10th) and Hertford (17th). The Hertford gig was a particular success, with Dead Heaven personally asking along Trash Monroe, Exit Avenue, and Dozen Mozes to support. All of these bands have Myspace sites, so check them out!
The new songs have been well received, and hopefully the new EP will be recorded in the coming months, and also a collaboration with History of Guns. Enough DVD footage has also been shot now to make a compilation of highlights from over the past 3 years. News to follow. Also, the Fly magazine stated that DH were "one of the more mothwatering bands" on the gig scene (March 07 edition).
February saw the band meeting Tony Visconti at the signing of his excellent autobiography, hopefully a photo will appear soon on the GALLERY page.
Respect and thanx to the usual suspects, as always, Big Steve (the No1 Stalker) & Jane, Bryan Damage, Trash Monroe, Mark (Dozen Mozes), Mark & the Herts Clan, The AFE clan, Angelbabe & Shash from Bowiezone, and CONGRATULATIONS to Gary & Gemma on the birth of Echo, their 3rd daughter (22.03.07).
June 2007
After a quiet couple of months, Dead Heaven were back on the live scene again this month, with the excellent EXILED evening at Camden with Thought Criminals, Global Citizen, Liquidscreamer, and Jenna Leigh-Raine. The evening was a great success for all, and we are pleased to announce that EXILED2 will take place in August at The Vibe in Epsom (see LIVE DATES page). Big thanx to Mark from the Thought Criminals for getting us involved in, what looks like, a long and exciting collaboration of bands. The band released a special 'limited edition promo' cd for Exiled1, so if you're one of the lucky 30 people to have one, keep hold of it!
The band are also preparing to start sessions for the forthcoming EP, as yet untitled, which will feature the newer songs in the set as well as a possible surprise track. More details will be posted as and when.
Repect and thanx to the ever increasing army of DH followers and, as always, to Big Steve & Jane, Bryan Damage, Mark & the Herts Clan, Charlotte and Shash, the AFE clan, Bob NuEPB (you're a little star!), Global Citizen & Thought Criminals, and a BIG hello to Jo & Martin in Oz (hope you like the cd!)
September 2007
After yet another 'EXILED' gig on 11.08.07 at the Vibe in Epsom (with Sensyon, Thought Criminals, and YTDS), Dead Heaven are now looking forward to the next couple of gigs. The first of these being the annual ADAM ANT Party in London's West End. The band were asked personally by the events organiser Madam Stan to play a set, which will now include a cover version of an old Ants song, to mark their 30th Anniversary in the music business. Details can be found on our LIVE DATES page. The second gig (tbc) will be another EXILED gig, a return visit to the Vibe in Epsom on 03.12.07 (details to be announced).
Sessions for the new EP have taken place, and the band still hope to have this ready for release this side of Xmas 2007. Four confirmed tracks are "Equilibrium", "No More", "9 Days", & "I Want More".
Respect & thanx this month to the usual suspects, especially Sav, Bryan Damage, Bloody Kisses & Bob Nu-EPB & Scorpio Vixen (for the Exiled photos), Big Steve (our ever loyal No1 Stalker) & Jane, the AFE clan, the 'Exiled & Outcast' clan, and the army of people that have been sending us kind messages on Myspace
