December 2004
Well, we're drawing towards the end of another great year for DeadHeaven, and thoughts should be concentrated on 2005 with more gigs in the pipeline, and also the next DH EP. At the moment we're looking at release in early Spring.
DH played another great set at the Garage in November, courtesy of Flag Promotions. Big hello and thanx to all those that turned out to see us, and also special mentions to Madam Stan (DJ extraordinaire), & Rich & Junko from Global Citizen (ta for the photos). DH ventured out to catch Global Citizen at Madame Jojo's in November, and they really are developing into one of the most exciting and dark electronic bands on the scene.... keep it up! Also caught live in November were ChangesBowie (hiya guys!), Host, and our good friends from the Midlands Abigail's Mercy. All were blinding gigs and definitely bands worth seeing.
After a million years in the music promotions business, Sean (ex Army & Navy and The Cauliflower) has decided to hang up his rocking boots and move on to a Footie Theme Pub. DH would like to wish him loads of luck, and thanx for the gigs over the years.
Finally, a MASSIVE special thanx & love & respect to Bryan Damage, our lighting engineer, friend, and the most loyal of the DH clan. Besides all the things he does for the band, he has got to be the loveliest bloke alive and the best allie we can have. See ya at the bar mate!
Merry Christmas my Dark Angels..... see ya in 2005!
November 2004
October saw 2 gigs come our way, one in Harlow on the 9th, the other in Eastbourne on the 30th. We'd like to say hello & thanks to all the people involved in these gigs, especially Bryan Damage, Clive & LFD, Dead Eyes See, & Sweet Justice.
The new songs, 'Dorian Gray' & 'For Love Nor Money' seem to fit in the set well, and we hope to have a few more new songs ready for the New Year.
November sees one gig cancelled, and replaced with another night at the Garage promoted by FlagPromotions. The headline act is still to be confirmed, but the rest of the lineup is looking great (including Sensyon & Trash Monroe). There will also be DJ sets from Frankie D & Madame Stan. We are onstage at around 10pm, but please try to get there early enough to catch the support acts. We will post a flyer & more details on the LIVE DATES page as soon as we get them!
We took time out to catch a few bands in October, and would like to say hi & 'respect' to ChangesBowie, Orange Whip, & Host.
Finally, we'd like to express our sadness at the passing of John Peel. A true legend. Rest In Peace John. xxx
September 2004
Just back home from the ROCK4 Weekender in Tattershall, Lincs - An amazing 3 day event in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust. We'd like to thank all of the Rock4 Team (especially Lynn, Dee & John, Fudd, & Glammy) for asking us to play, and even more for making it a memorable experience. We'd also like to say hiya and thanx to the following people: Bryan Damage (what an amazing bloke & friend), Paul Henderson & Aladdin Sane, Stevey & Terry & Abigail's Mercy, Mark & Pleasuredome, Mr & Mrs Sputnikfred, The Doc, Martin Degville & Andy Betts, The DJ (didnt catch his name but what a lovely guy!), and the staff at Tattershall Country Club (especially the lady that cooked us Full English breakfasts at 8am, whilst Baz was still dressed in his Sputnik2 stage gear!).
Can't wait for ROCK5 in 2005! Let it Rock!!!!!
Some pictures can be found on the GALLERY page, and I'm sure there'll be a few more scattered over the www in the coming weeks. The new song 'Dorian' worked well and will be a permanent part of the DeadHeaven set now.
Our next gig is a 'kind of homecoming' on October 9th at the Square, hope to see ya all there. Take care, go safe, be well, and stay around! Luv on ya!!
August 2004Most of this month was spent concentrating on the SPUTNIK2 set, which we debuted on 26.08.04 at Madame JoJo's in London. The gig went really well and we met loads of great people. Cheers to all those who turned up to see us.
And, out of the blue, we have confirmed 4 more dates for DeadHeaven this week. Please check the LIVE DATES page for details. We are hoping to have a few new songs for the forthcoming gigs too, including 'Fall' and 'Dorian' (working titles at the moment). Hope to see a few familiar faces.
Blessed be..... and go safe out there!
July 2004
Two main fragments of news for this month. Firstly, Dead Heaven will be playing at the Cauliflower in Ilford ( www.thecauliflower.com ) on 23rd of July supporting the Bowie Experience. Details can be found on the LIVEDATES page.
The second bit of news is that Dead Heaven have joined Martin Degville's "Sputnik2 The Future" band, and live dates are imminent. Check www.sputnik2.com for details and dates.
June 2004In the wake of the 2 gigs in April, May was spent very quietly. We have been blagging tho, and a few gigs should be announced very soon. Keep an eye on the FORUM for details. There may also be news about another project involving Dead Heaven soon too!
Some MP3's have been added to the DHPRODUCT page. Big thanx to Wayne Taylor. The DVD of the gig at the Square in April is also near completion, thanx to Sav.
New songs are currently being worked on, and we hope to preview them at the next gigs. Working titles so far are "Whatever the Weather", "Baby Suicide" and "Dream Decay".
There is also a new Questions & Answers page, reached via the REVIEWS page. Anyone wanting to ask us a question can submit them via the usual email addresses.
Blessed be.....
End of April 2004
The gig at the Garage went really well. We had a great time, met some lovely people, caught up with a lot of old friends, and played a blistering set! Thanx to everyone that made the effort to come to see us (despite the Tube problems and traffic jams!). The other bands were really good too, and we hope to have some more dates lined up this year with Global Citizen and Deviant.
Thanx also to everyone for their kind words and emails. These just go to confirm that we have done the right thing, and are definitely on the right track. A special mention to Jay & Nick of Deviant, Dirty Degville (cheers for turning up mate!), Rich & Rach, Rich (Global Citizen), the Changelings (Leigh-on-Sea & Kent divisions), Marcus (Surrey), Steve from Italy ("you're gonna be late home mate!"), and Darren (Harlow). Bless you all!
The DARK HALF EP is selling ok, and now is the time for us to blag some more gigs and spread the word!
The REVIEWS page now has a blinding review of the EP by Bryan Damage, as well as some comments received via email. Anyone wishing to send in a review is welcome to, and we'll try to publish it here without changing it too much!
Blessed be.... we really mean it!
April 2004
The gig at the Square on 03.04.04 went very well indeed. A great crowd in attendance, and some amazing lights from Mr Damage. Thanx to everyone that stayed to watch our set, and especially to those that said nice things about us afterwards. Cheers!
Now we're focused on the Garage gig on 24.04.04. Looks as though we'll have quite a few familiar faces travelling to see us, and we're even gonna be blessed by Mr Damage's blinding lights again! Remember to say hello to us, and buy an EP. There seems to be a bit of shuffling going on with the line-up, but make sure that you're at the venue by 7.15, as we may unleash the beast a little early (to fit in more songs). Details of this gig, and the flyer, can be found on our LIVEDATES page.
We managed to record the Square gig digitally, so expect some audio & visual downloads in the near future.
Our next targets are in the deepest depths of Essex.... so keep an eye open for DH in local press. Blessed be .......
March 2004
The main news this month is that DEAD HEAVEN have two gigs lined up for April. Saturday 3rd at the Square in Harlow (www.harlowsquare.com), and Saturday 24th Upstairs at the Garage (www.flagpromotions.com). The Harlow gig took a little while to confirm, as there were doubts placed about whether a 'dark' night would be viable, but we got there in the end. The Garage gig is a GARY NUMAN Special, featuring some great bands including our good friends GLOBAL CITIZEN. We basically got booked for this gig on the strength of our version of the old Tubeway Army b-side 'We Are so Fragile', which we have been doing in our set for the past couple of years.
Dead Heaven will also be releasing their 2nd EP on 03.04.04, entitled "The Dark Half EP". Check the DHProduct page for details.
