HISTORY X PARIAHS LIVE DATES DH PRODUCT REVIEWS CONTACT
Not having heard anything before of
Deadheaven and not having seen them perform live, I did not have any
expectations. A couple of bands first, some polite applause from the audience,
and then came Dead Heaven.
From the first, it was clear to see that this was more than 2 people playing
music together, - there was a quite astonishing synergy that occurred with
these two on stage that a thousand rehearsals could not have achieved, and it
was obvious that it flowed quite naturally. Both Nino's amazing guitar work,
combined with Baz's slick bass work was a joy to listen to (and believe me I
am a harsh critic), and the two of them together produced an energy and
excitement that drew the audience in and kept them right there in the palm of
their hands throughout the set. It was therefore no surprise that the audience
erupted into noisy shrieking spontaneous applause at the end of the first
song, unlike we had heard all night, and were to hear for the remaining 2
bands.
I don't know who contributes what as far as the songs go, though I am familiar
with Bazza's words from the Bowie forum, his talent in that department was
clear and the songs lyrics were well rounded and powerful IMO. The perfect
compliment to the clever and mature (if one can use that word) music that went
with. I loved the way both Baz and Nino would fade to the background at
various times as the other shone with their music and skills. Here are 2
people who's passion for their music and belief in what they do really becomes
obvious. Equally astonishing was the way they played together as if they were
one, split into two.
Well anyway, that’s my take on it. They stuck out like sore thumbs that
night for all the right reasons, and they happened to be the only band who the
audience was screaming for more.............. (no, not just from us).
It's great to listen to a band and feel that
tingle up your spine and that you just have to move, and kind of get lost in
the music. Sure I came because I wanted to see you guys, but I also wanted to
be entertained, and I say what I see.

Baz and Nino were amazing, I would recommend them as a band to see. You really can tell they enjoy what they do. Baz has a fantastic deep rich voice and plays bass very well, and Nino is a shit hot guitarist who totally seems to loose himself in the music. They come across as being totally in tune with each other and where the other is on the stage that you can see their stage presence is completely natural, they're not playing for the audience they're playing for themselves. They were the only band of the night who got people shouting for more.
