"It's easy to compare bands to others these days, but the sound of Dead Heaven is very unique unto themselves. Dark, sombre, brooding, full of agony, but the appreciation of the beauty in pain, and that pain itself can hold mystery, glory and even enlightenment. A celebration of the darker, deeper, often untouched aspects of the human soul and psyche. Baz's voice is full of conveying this passion as he sings, and the band backs him up flawlessly, in full synergy. It is rare these days to find a band who feeds off of each others energies and weaves it so seamlessly into their music. When I listen to these songs, I wish for night to fall, so I can light some candles, draw the curtains, light some earthy insense, and dance semi clad, letting the music guide my spirit, and my spirit guide my body to dance. I am ever hopeful that Dead Heaven comes to tour in the USA sometime soon, I'll be there front and center, promise!" MERCY WRAITH (Georgia, US)

Comments via email/www re "Gathering Souls" EP

"I haven't stopped playing the disk.  Still sounds as good as the first night I played it, if not better."  STEVE BL (Essex UK)

"It's really excellent - a bit reminiscent of Sisters of Mercy somehow." METALBITCH (Essex UK)

"Hah .. Dorian Gray??? 3 days with no sleep listening to 'Heathen'? .. I like it! 'Everything of You' sounds like Rosetta Stone meets Nosferatu." GARY ASH - Cureheads (Prague)

"I would like 2 cd's from you as I crashed my car and walked away...It would be a lot more, but some smart arse nicked my copy and did lots of copies [gits]!! Do I have the right to hold you? or just 2 cd's?  I broke it down and rearranged, can you make it 3 cd's? Blessed be." DEL - History of Guns (Hertfordshire UK)

"Everything of You is a bloody excellent track! Very early Smiths spliced with a little Bauhaus, which must be good!! Stop dilly dallying and get an album sorted!" BOB NU-EPB (Essex UK)

"Just listened to Dorian Gray, sounds a bit like ultravox and John Foxx.  A good effort, better than bloody Numan's new shite!" A TAYLOR (UK)

"...and I must say, the new songs, excellent quality and of course you know I adore the music, reminds me of a cross between Sisters of Mercy & 69 Eyes." SYD7 - VEN (USA)

"Must say I'm quite impressed, I really like Broken, and Everything of You, Nino has a superb sound, very Killing Joke/New Model Army/The Cure.  Baz's vocals are very strong and the programming for the drums is immense, it could easily pass as live drums.  A few more listens will learn me more, but so far I really like it!! Believe me, if I didn't like it I would tell ya! I cannot lie about music.  Super stuff!!" CRACKED ACTOR - BowieWonderWorld (Scotland UK)

Dead Heaven formed in May 2000 and immediately began drawing
comparisons to the likes of Supergrass, Placebo and Tubeway Army
(Gary Numan), amongst others. Not before too long though, they
were beginning to produce a sound of their own. Their new sound
can be heard on their superb (3rd) EP "Gathering Souls", which is
available exclusively from Dead Heaven's site
.

To my ears the group sounds very influenced by The Cure, with a
bit of Numan thrown in for good measure. But don't listen to me,
listen the them - here. Everyone hears different things when they
listen to music, so you'll probably think they sound nothing like The
Cure or Numan - make your own mind up.
Whoever you think the group sound like, I'm sure you'll have to agree
that they sound great on cd. The disc has 5 tracks, one of which is
a remix - and all are superb.
